One armed workouts and "Almost a Hippy Mom" adventures

It's been two weeks since my surgery and it hasn't been so bad! Vic and Ryker went with me to my post operation appointment with my surgeon yesterday. They took my stitches out, which were healing great. Of the three, the one in the middle, at the top of my shoulder, could have maybe used an extra couple of days because it didn't stay all the way shut (sorry if that's gross) but I think it will be ok. The surgeon checked everything out, did some moving of my arm that I wasn't so prepared for and said everything looks good! Apparently, the first physical therapy appointment (which I was supposed to start this week after my appointment with him) is supposed to be done via walk in at the hospital in Portsmouth. This is a giant pain in the ass because its only during certain hours in the morning and you have to go through a tunnel with a toll to get there. So, instead of risking sitting there all morning without an appointment, I decided to wait a few days to start and make and appointment for SIX-THIRTY IN THE MORNING on Monday. Why so early?! Oh well, at least I'll be up to get an early workout in afterwards!

I've felt a little lost at the gym with just one arm. I just feel so unbalanced with everything, so I've just done a lot of legs, abs and back. I finally went to Lululemon with Vic and got some new swag with my gift card that my in laws had gotten me for my birthday. Can you believe it took almost two months for me to use it? I got some great tank tops and a pair of grey Wunder Unders that are definitely going back. I don't know why I could get light grey, my butt is just too large and in charge for those, and quite frankly...I'm a sweaty girl when I work out. So, they're going back and I'll find some that I feel safer in!

So, ever since I got my super cute mason jars from Target I've basically had one attached to my hand at all times. My most recent obsession? Filling one up with coffee and ice and a scoop of my Vanilla whey protein isolate. I think it tastes EXACTLY like those bottled frappuccinos. Delicious!

So...I wanted to go to Diaper Junction here in Virginia Beach for some leg warmers for Ryker. Don't laugh yet, they're pretty manly! They're really helpful for his little baby knees while he's crawling around and they're way easier than pants when it comes time to change him. Silly, yes, but with a wiggly 11 month old, anything that makes getting him on and off the changing table faster is a friend of mine.

Well, I knew they had them at Diaper Junction, the local cloth diaper place. Well, two pairs of leg warmers and a cloth diaper demonstration later led to my Friday night being spent researching cloth diapers and Saturday we went and bought two trial packs. We love the GroVia ones! It's not so bad and I think they last longer than normal diapers, absorbency wise. No word yet on if Vic wants to give the go ahead to completely make the switch, but that's ok, we get 30 days to try it out!

Nothing else too interesting going on over here. I'm absolutely dreading having to go back to work in 16 days. I love the time with my boys and being able to focus on school and my workouts. Damn responsibilities. Oh well, just gotta soak up this time for now! I hear my little guy on the monitor, time for some good snuggles...
